About Our Club

Our local club, The Friendship Force of Dallas, was founded as an offshoot of the Fort Worth/Dallas Club in 1993. There were 7 original founders although there were 23 members at the first meeting on November 28, 1993.

The Dallas membership has grown to over 65 members who generally live within a 30-mile radius of Dallas including the counties of Dallas, Rockwall, Collin and Denton. A few members now reside in Rhode Island, Alabama, and Missouri.   Our members are from all walks of life: professionals, seniors/active adults, singles, couples and families. Anyone who is interested in making new friends in the home area or abroad are welcome to attend a meeting and/or join our club.

What do we have in common? We all enjoy meeting new people and travelling wherever that may be.

Our meetings are held at the Forest Green Library on the 2nd Saturday of every other month (beginning in January).  The meetings are followed by an optional dinner gathering at a local restaurant for fellowship, fun and cultural enrichment. Each meeting has a special topic and speaker. The programs are our way of sharing our knowledge of cultures from other areas and around the world; these are based on a speaker’s personal experience while traveling. We also meet for lunch on the 3rd Thursday in months when we do not have a meeting.  We meet at a local restaurant providing more time for fellowship, fun, and cultural enrichment.

At the core of our group is a commitment to Our Mission

“To promote global understanding across the barriers that separate people.”

See https://friendshipforce.org/mission for more information.

We encourage you to join us at a meeting and experience the sharing of friendship.

Additional activities include:

  • Hosting of inbound journeys with groups (aka ambassadors) from other countries or U.S. cities in our homes
  • Participate in outbound journeys as Ambassadors of Friendship to other countries and cities, experiencing a home stay with host families and sharing in their lifestyle and culture
  • Occasional special events, parties, lunch or dinners
  • Attend and participate in international and regional conferences and festivals
